Flight Attendants in CHAOS™ shirts leafleted passengers from 2-4 pm outside Door C on the upper level of terminal 1 and alerted passengers, in both English and Japanese, that CHAOS is coming to United Airlines if our Contract is unilaterally changed with termination of our pension plan.
Passengers were very receptive to our fight to save our pension and many eagerly wore CHAOS stickers on their clothing or stuck them to their baggage.
One passenger even dyed his hair CHAOS green in support of our fight.
Consistent with its frantic, out-of-control and inappropriate reactions at other airports, the Local management tried to intimidate Flight Attendants from engaging in the legal CHAOS activity and insisted, "You have to stop doing this."
Local AFA Officers explained calmly that we had secured the necessary airport permits for our activity and we had every right to conduct the legal CHAOS activity. As long as management intends to threaten our retirement security and evade our pension rights, we will continue with CHAOS.
