Andreas Curlee

Andreas Curlee began his career as a Flight Attendant with Air Wisconsin in 1990 and was appointed EAP Chairperson for the IAD base and later elected as Local Council Vice-President. In 1993 Andreas decided to apply as a Flight Attendant at Continental Airlines and in 1995 was hired at United Airlines.

As a new hire for United Airlines, Andreas volunteered to work on Grievances and, after attending training, became a member of the Grievance Committee while domiciled in both Miami and Washington, D.C.  In 2008, Andreas was elected as Local Council President at Council 21-IAD and was re-elected to his second term in 2010. During his time as Local Council President in DCA he advocated for cabin seat agreements and created new communications strategies to ensure the Members in DCA were informed and engaged. After the merger with Continental Airlines, Andreas helped coordinate membership engagement events and educational activities during the representational election as well as being instrumental in the selection and advocacy of the team chosen to staff the AFA Flight Attendant Call Center at DCA, who were charged with contacting members during the representational campaign.

Over the years serving the membership at United Airlines, he has attended training for the Communications, EAP, INFO REP, CHAOS™, Grievance, and Government Affairs Committees, and was appointed to serve as Chairperson of the AFA-CWA Finance Committee from 2012-2014.
